I realize now...

My favourite of all my poems.

I realize now I did not know,
The horrible way love can go,
I thought the path I chose to follow,
Was the one that wouldn't lead to wallow,
I got so caught up in hoping,
I didn't see the moping.
His eyes fooled me into thinking,
There wasn't a neccesity for blinking,
I didn't stop to think,
What could possibly link.
Instead of seeing what was there,
I saw only what I could bare.
So the truth that was sitting there,
Ended up beneath the glare.
I thought I knew what would come,
Of my wishful thinking without blinking.
But I realize now that I was dumb,
And now I can't help but be glum.
I could have prevented so much pain,
If only I could do it again.
I realize now my mistake,
I think I will fix it with some cake,
Because what can you do
When you can't even sue?
I realize love is only the start,
Of the path that leads to a broken heart.
I realize now pain is all that comes,
From the one you thought you loved.
I realize now I did not know.

Too much forced rhyme and simplistic rhyme. The message was good (sad, but good), but the writing needs much work if you truly want to convey the pain you feel. It is your pain and your words. Write it and write it well.
