All are forgotten

All are forgotten

A Poem by Vatsal Rohilla (account shifted)

The people bow in front of others' opulence,
their envy and their glutton are immense.
Coming across tenderheartedness is rare,
honesty and veracity are found nowhere.
People swap sides to their benefit,
betraying has become their habit.
You dwell in the riches, you thrive,
you lack opulence, you won't survive.
The world respects wealth and designation,
their glutton never hands resignation.
They love wealth, but the wealthy,
they wish to be financially healthy.
The memories of the good get rotten,
except opulence, everything gets forgotten.

I personally think that your need to rhyme has dictated some of your lines. Of course it always does, but here I thought it more distracting. Have you tried free verse without the constrictions of rhyme?
