Confessions

Confessions

A Poem by Vatsal Rohilla (account shifted)

Do you remember that day
when on the way
you confessed your love for me?

Your countenance tells me that
you do not recall anything-
not even faintly.
While I remember it all
vividly and clearly.

You must have lost water through your eyes
when the test of time arrived in disguise.
It happened with me too,
the difference is that
you do not remember while I do.

Your physical features are as pretty as ever,
but the topography of your heart,
which earlier said it would be mine forever,
has undergone changes
which you do not admit.

Rather you say that
it has always been like this,
and I inwardly ask-
"Oh, really, Miss?"

Whatever vindications, justifications
you may give today,
I will always remember the day
when you used to say
something special
which you have forgotten.

Oh this inconsistent type. They are looking for love in all the wrong places and believe by offering attention and flowery words, someone else can give them what they can only find within. If they could do better they would. Best to love them all the still and yourself all the better. Great write as always, Vatsal:)

i have a couple exes that fit into this poem so well...promises of forever, somehow got lost...and often only one remembers---

maybe the other just doesn't want to admit.
