Addictions

"
Are we all enslaved by something or someone?
Deriving pleasure from always wanting more
Drugs being demonized by the mass medias
In a society relying on instant gratification
Consumerism found its way on priorities’ lists
Treasures, sex, emotions, entertainment, gambling
Ironically, they will blame the extremes, while,
On their own pavement, feeding their addictions
No reason to worry, the danger is far away
Scapegoats, while they indulge in all excesses

I liked how you started off with a question. This is an interesting prosaic poem, it's relevant and thought-provoking.
