My Guardian Angel

 

 

Blue eyes meet mine and I am pulled under
Into a warmth so sweet - a beautiful wonder
Fingertips dance gracefully on my skin
I cannot describe the state that I am in
Strong arms surround me and I can't help but smile
If only I could stop time, if only for a while
Hours turn to minutes and minutes slowly fall
Cascading in my heart, a memory for all
His heart beats slowly, in tune with mine
A lullaby is created; a song so fine
Words are whispered and words are lost
A promise is made despite the cost
"I love you and I always will"
"My angel, my soldier" My heart beats still
Scars from the past fade to a feather
As hands are held that fit perfectly together
All is forgotten and the truth is out
The future is bliss I have no doubt
Nothing is forever but he makes me believe
In the dreams and wishes that help me to breathe
We share the same thoughts, we share the same desire
My heart is aflame with the sweetest fire
Lips are pressed softly as a tale is told
Of Romeo and Juliet, a love so bold
"Never let me go" Our eyes close still
In the arms of my guardian angel

Author's Note

A relatively old piece from a previous relationship which at the time, I foolishly thought he was the one. But I decided not to throw it out just because things ended badly, so here it is I guess. Hope you enjoy :)

I love this one :) I hate commenting on love poems because they're usually all the same and so boring... I like this one though. It has a strength to it, not just the usual mushy lovey words.

This is beautifully written.

There is something so elegant about that line.
