Dear Heart

Dear Heart

A Poem by Samantha ~virginpoet

Dear
heart

My heart
is your heart

Was I wrong to let my hands
touch the things that hurt

To feel the ridges of scars
left marring your flesh

To feel your broken heartbeat
thumping heavy in your chest

To taste the salty Seas
in your tears
as my lips
kiss your
waves

Tell me why
my blue eyes burn
with a desire
no other
shall know

None shall
know my
virgin tight
depths but you

None shall know
the four chambers
of my heart
nor feel its
intensity

Why was I created
a creature so different
as a mythological mermaid
swimming in seas of ancient lore

You found me a hopeless being
with scars that can never heal
hoping through love and depth
you could make me feel

But memories like razorblades
have left him scarred
his heart shredded
shattered like
fine glass

His pieces float on
in treturous seas
evading loves grasp

As the mermaid
searches for the broken
remnant's of her love

The waves of her heart bleed
Beethoven's symphony

Causing whirlpools
in her eyes

To rage
and claw at raw
emotion

Creating little
tsunami's as her heart
earthquakes

And hot lava eruptions
to spew forth pure love

But his eyes of red pour tears
of acid a black rain

That cause her
scales to blaze and glow

Because she loves
a creature created for agony

Her home

The fallen chambers
of his heart and soul

The sea his tears

My guitar chords for this are as follows (in a largo 6/8):

Em Am7 Em Em/Em C B7 B7/Em C with a G on the top E string to B7/Dm7 B7 E/cesura/C#m C#m F#m/B B Em/Am F Dm/E7 with a D on the B string to E then E7 with an open D string/cesura/A F#m D/D Bm A/E A F#m/D E A/cesura/Repeat...

The timing is meant to be fairly opened with a fermata at each cesura. If you know someone who plays have them try it out!

You have blended your poetry together so well, it is impossible to tell this was written by two poets. A beautiful collaboration.
