Napalm Romance

Napalm Romance

A Poem by Samantha ~virginpoet

she wears
war flowers
in her locks
daisy chain wreaths
of high velocity splatter
grey matter stained petals
wilting at atomic touch
his scorched earth kiss
fuels the drought
in her throat

Parched she chases
the gun metal fireflies
at his crushed temple
drawing closer to drowning
on his tongue whetting her
barren mouth

The aggressor nourishes
his pale cadaver
feeding her the spoils of invasion
holocaust ash munitions
like a dandelion wish
blown on assassin's breath

Picking through the carnage
clawing at his armored chest
bullet wound warmth
refuge~ prison~ death
in freedom's mask

His hollow point skull
in her demolished fingers
nerve memory recalling
unspoilt features
the hidden vulnerability
now blown open
in a napalm romance

i would like to thank your ignorant followers for their very generous critique on my poem which you shamelessly plaigiarised word for word.

i'm not sure what kind of satisfaction you get from receiving attention for stealing other's words, emotions and their self-searching...

Powerful stuff! It's hard to pick a favorite line. "gun metal fireflies" "scorched earth kiss" "a dandelion wish blown on assassin's breath" Well done indeed. Thanks for sharing.

I surely hope that he looks worse than she does... oh yes, it is napalm, but it isn't romance in any shape or form... I wasn't sure why all the images of combat and war until I saw the picture... the abuse and degregation of women is and has been a war zone for way too long.. when will we put and end to this violence??!!

I applaud your poem Samantha, not enough poems like this are written. I believe that we poets, and artists need to play a role in creating an atmosphere where this is no longer tolerated anywhere in the world!!! And in this you have contributed... thank you..
