Saccharine Sorrow

This piece has come to me, ending my month or so long writer's block stage!

In the middle of the night

Under the full reddened moon

I sing about that unjust love

That will forever plague my life

 

The day started out

Just like every other day

Until you happened to pass by me

And bewitched me with your beauty

 

You turned my life inside out

As your image continued to taint my mind

And with every passing moment

I grew more crazed by love

 

(Why) Did I even try

When I knew my heart would suffer

(Why) Did I even care

When I knew the final outcome

I still ask these questions

Wondering why I was so blind

 

It would have been so much better

If I had submitted to the bitter truth

Since everything I did

Was basically useless

 

Refrained from contact

Only watching from afar

You never paid me any mind

Since fate kept us so far apart

 

I drove myself insane

Over that which I could not possess

Because when courage dawned

It was just too late

 

(Why) Did I even try
