Rain

As I stand under the darkened sky

I think about how you said goodbye

As if you'd come right back to me

I think about how you never returned

About how I was left alone

How I can never again feel your warm embrace

 

Will this rain ever stop

Will this pain never end

I don't understand why

The rain chose me

It chose me

Someone who has nowhere to run

 

The rain has been falling for so long

And everyday I find myself drenched in it

I can't seem to leave though

It's so cold but I remain frozen in place

The pain always continues to pile

And it has nowhere else to go but inside my injured soul

 

I couldn't rid myself of those merciless memories

I couldn't let them go

I kept chasing after the past

And when I closed my eyes

It only began to stifle me with grief

... I was so foolish to do this

 

Will this rain ever stop

Will this pain never end

I don't understand why

The rain chose me

It chose me

Someone who has nowhere to run

 

The rain still falls

It continues even today

As I let my pain fall down my cheeks

A hand reaches out to me

When I look up... It is you 

When I reached for you, you smiled and shook your head

 

Scars heal at a gentle pace, you told me

And as I watched you go

I felt the tears begin to dry

And once you disappeared I smiled as well

When I began to understand what you said

When I remembered your advice

 

The rain still falls

The pain is still here

But... It is not so bad anymore

I can now see the sun

I can now see the light

And the thunderclouds over my soul have finally receeded

C'est très belle! It kind of reminds me of how my life used to be before High School. I love the reminder of the rain and how it relates to pain, it makes you feel so much better at the end with the sun. Je t'aime!
