A Silent Undoing

A Silent Undoing

A Poem by Whitney Kleinhuizen

There are no words of a self, imploding

To feel so much, to feel nothing at all

Thrashing against confines of the mind

Insidious insanity and demons of madness devour the soul

There is no way out

Engulfed by unimaginable hells

Forever filled by the howls of agony and wails of misery

Moans of suffering become endless

And pain becomes etched in every breath of life

Held against will by a sadistic power and a dark force

Invisible to the eye and unknown by many

Mind overthrown becomes the devils playground

As madness spreads like wildfire, flowing through open veins

Desire for an end, and compelled towards self-destruction

Death becomes a comfort

While absolute silence has never been so deafening

Very realistic description of mind's turmoil: it touches the core of someone's ongoing existence. Although it's a haunting piece, it's well executed. Nice!

I write out of expression. I don't know all the "rules of writing" and quite honestly don't really care. I write what I know. I write what I feel. I write beyond the eyes. I write from the heart. A.. more..
