Rebirth

Rebirth

A Poem by Whitney Kleinhuizen

Blinded, bound, and beaten,
a broken soul she once was.
Pieces always burning, burning,
through the chilling nights.

'Til suddenly fire pierced darkness,
the sky set ablaze.
And rising from her own ashes,
chains were broken, eyes were opened.

And the breath of life was given again.

Excellent poem... made me think of a phoenix. Great imagery in this piece "And rising from her own ashes,
chains were broken, eyes were opened." Beautiful line here.

An amazing poem that clearly defines how strong hope is in times of despair.

This makes me wonder if anyone was watching when the first, the very first phoenix arose from the ashes. It makes me assume that mythic creature's composure as it surveys the circle of ash within which it stands, reeling from the memories of lives past and revelation of freedom and rebirth. I shudder as I contemplate the pain of the past and the possibilities of the future. I breath, no longer forlorn... I am reborn.

An inspiring write, Whitney. Take heart, the universe notices your endeavors.

I write out of expression. I don't know all the "rules of writing" and quite honestly don't really care. I write what I know. I write what I feel. I write beyond the eyes. I write from the heart. A.. more..
