Romanticitis

Romanticitis

A Poem by Ian Faraway
"

A deadly infection

"
Romanticitis
(Ro-man-tic-itis)
An infection
That forms in the heart
Spreading
Damaging
Every organ
The stomach
Has black spots
"The butterflies"
The brain's cells
Become confused
And scatter
In all directions
Affects speech
Thought process
And most importantly
Logic
The heart
Pounds hard and fast
Causing hot flashes
Sweat palms
Above all
It comes
Out of nowhere
When you least
Expect it
When you least
Want it
It'll be the death
Of us all

WELL SAID IN THE LINES...IT GOES JUST LIKE THAT...THE TITLE GOT ME AND THEN AS I READ THIS PASSAGE THE DOTS WERE CONNECTED EACH LINE YOU PUT OUT FOR US IN THE THIS VERSE...IT WILL BE THE DEATH FOR THOSE THAT KEEP SEEKING...AND NOT FIND THE ONE...

i read your title and was like "SCORE! I'm a huge romantic!" but when i got to the end i was almost offended and in denial of being a romantic to the extent you described only because of the last to lines "I'll be the death" "of us all".. but then I realized that i was feeling so defensive about the situation was only because you were right. Sometimes I go day-to-day having to remind myself that finding Love isn't what my life is truly all about.
