The Hardest Part

The Hardest Part

A Poem by Ian Faraway

The hardest part
Was watching this relationship break
And my heart filling with this unfamiliar ache
Watching this love run out the door
The hardest part
Was that I didn't know what for

The hardest part
Was watching the decay of what we made
And the unbearable feeling of being afraid
The roses between us die
The hardest part
Was knowing that this relationship was a lie

The hardest part
Was wanting to work things out
But it's hard when I don't know what we're fighting about
You can be the Princess, I can play the hero
The hardest part
Was watching you go

The hardest part
Is still loving you
Especially after what you put me through
Hell bound since day number one
The hardest part
Was knowing you put me through hell for fun

Perfect. This was magnificent poem and really you just really know how to rhyme in poetry as most people don't rhyme but just speak in their poetry but, you have knack for both and for that I bid you "bravo". For your poem had sadness in it as the person who shall be in this scenario but, it was strong and emotional especially for those who've been in and trying to get out. Nicely done and keep up the excellent work.

This would be a terrible scenario to live through! This is quite like another one of your poems I just now reviewed (don't remember the name); not knowing why your relationship is going down the shitter. Once again, I like your rhyme scheme a lot.

love the rhythm to this great piece of work.

THANKS FOR SHARING THIS AWESOME POEM!!

I like this a lot. I love the rhythm and rhyme of the writing. The story was well portrayed. The repetition was also well done. Sometimes repetition can be too much but in this case it was not. Great job! If this poem is true then I hope all is better now!

A striking poem, that I can relate to. I love the dynamics of the two polarizing characters in your poem. Great job.

This was amazing too. I like your style with the repetition, and once again this a universal concept. I have one suggestion, where you say 'was knowing that this relation was a lie' I think it would sound better if you make it relationship instead of relation because it flows better. Just a thought though, great job.
