I must admit, The title drew me in, very few could really write a comprehensive poem about the beauty of such things, here is one however, but what I pick up here is Hard days night, you don't care for the Beatles music? Not even the yellow submarine? I can't say that I'm crushed.

Titled dung beetle.
In here "classics" could mean all the traditional stereotypes perhaps...not only the racial ones, but the ones related to love as well. Why do people run after the perfect fairy tale ending anyway? Every story is a happily ever after, it depends where you end it...
Even the dung beetles are stuck with their s****y stereotypes (alliteration happens...)
I love your out of the box thinking :))

Bold and with conviction ;) :)

Love it. When people ask, do you like the classics? what in the hell are the classics? Its to vague to say that yes and so it is easier, and more uncommon to say you just don't care.

I like the classics. They did leave us a good base for writing. Each of us have their favorites. I like the new writers and ancient writers. I need them both to create.

in that class for poetry of the 15th and 16th century at the university, that stuff of
Sir John Suckling or Anne Bradstreet, I remember just wanting to die and be rolled into a giant
ball. It didn't happen and I survived. So the analogy of the Dung Beetle is apropos if I take
this poems title as purpose. But the dung beetle is the only known insect
to navigate the Orient themselves using the Milky Way>(Wik) and I doubt seriously if John
Milton could do that....lol
