Unwanted

Unwanted

A Poem by Skye
"

Wrote this in World History today, you can take it several different ways.

"
I never wanted you this way
Truth be told,
I never wanted you
But my heart did
It knew what it wanted
You
It ached for you to love me
To accept me
To see me for what I am
But you didn't
You were to cold to notice
To caught up in yourself to care
My heart held on
Hoping, One day
One day you would love me
One day you would smile at me
Laugh with me
But to you,
I was a mistake
Wasn't meant to be
It wasn't my fault
That you did what you did
That I was left stranded with you
You were supposed to care for me
Love me
Though you didn't
I still hoped
That one day you'd see
Notice it was me
Not you
Who was wronged

Best poem I've read today!

I quite liked this. I saw it as that heart taking a person through their life instead of what they really want.

True, it could be interpreted differently. It is a truly marvelous poem. I love your free style!

Although this does speak to me of love I think it is more of a parental love or a parent figure...it seems to me as though you are longing for approval, the lines "It ached for you to love me to accept me" are what make me think this because when people write about those they love (lover) they don't usually write about acceptance. Plus people are able to recover from a lovers rejection but it is a parents rejection we never seem to get over (probably cause they are the ones who are meant to love and accept us no matter what). Great poem!
