Chapter Two- Breathing The Euphoric IntensityA Chapter by Emily Noella VeePlacing the olive colored book back on the cherrywood shelf, another complicating question arose- who was standing in our living room admiring my mothers book collection that had been rotting away in that cupboard since her death. I spoke not a word of this, fore the boy must have not known the wave of tensity that shivered down my spine and poured through the rest of my body, causing clenched fists and shaking knees. "This is my son Radrovich. But he goes by Jonah." Dr. Vanderquill's thick Russian accent momentarily tore me away from watching Jonah. "Uh, why dont you uh..." Manny ran a hand across his thinning brown hair,"Come... uh..." "Join you." His voice was high but so elegant. If I had no common sense I would just stand up and jump over this fragile rocking chair and hug him. I was pathetic, "I'd be glad too, Mr. Xanders." "Please, uh, call me, uh, Manny... from now on... uh, Mr. Xanders was my, um, father... y'know?" Manny was obviously nervous to have the Vanderquills over. And the honey voice rose once more, "Yes, I know. I believe Radrovich Vanderquill isn't the best name, eh? I'd rather... blend in. At least for the time I have to." Jonah flicked his long scene styled hair out of his face momentarily and revealed perfect purple jewel tone eyes. They were accompanied by a beautiful wide smile with obviously laser-whitened teeth. Through and through, substantially gorgeous. "I believe I never caught your name," Jonah extended his arm to me. I thanked myself for remembering to put on some Aveeno lotion before I came down here, and I shook his hand with all the grace a 15-year-old girl powered by horomones could muster. "Bobbi Xanders." I smiled. "Bobbi's your real name?" Jonah inquired questionably. "No..." I responded, hoping he would say no more and that my hint of studying the carpet would alarm him to leave me alone. But I was soon defeated. "What is it then?" "Don't laugh, please." I flashed my prettiest grin, knowing everyone in the room had eyes on us. "Promise, Miss Xanders." I let out a long, dramatic sigh and answered him. "Barbra." Jonah swept my hand up from his and laid a quick kiss on it. "Would you be alarmed if I told you I liked Bobbi better?" "Not alarmed at all..." I knew my face was flustered. "Well then, we must be going, Manny." And the attention was off me long enough to slip away from the scene and have multiple dreams of Jonah.
