He was a hungry man, and not one with a selective taste for cuisines.

"You good for nothing drifter, what did you break this time?" A deep angry voice reached the quiet customer's ears. He had chosen the table furthest from people and closest to the busy kitchen.

 

"I'm very sorry, boss! I'll pay for it." A small appeasing voice responded. He sounded obviously foreign, obviously oblivious, and in need of money. The meal tasted average, commercially improved Mexican. But he wasn't guilty about the money he spent. He was a hungry man, and not one with a selective taste for cuisines. Whimpering sounds interrupted London from enjoying his after-dinner cigarette. It was the same waiter from the diner. This time, he was not trying to appease his boss. He did not seem motivated to work. He sat in a moonless spot, slouched against empty cargo boxes, seeming pretty much…unemployed and drowned in tears.
