Incineration

Incineration

A Poem by Amortentia03

I’ve been told that, “Love is friendship,
Set on fire,” but I’ve found it burns just one.
Flesh and bone and promise, left charred
And rotting in the sun.
The flames can flicker large or small,
Both take away the air and leave you feeling sick
So, stop and drop and roll away, the only ones we lose
Are those still clinging to the wick.
