Blinded

Blinded

A Poem by Amortentia03

Why must you
Cling to him that way?
Thin fingers grasping after thinner promises.
A dream you were told you knew.
Hidden vestiges of
Disaster to vast to note
A wound too deep"
You must salve it with love.
Dark love, in the shadow of
What little it was built upon
Finally feeling safe
In a fortess for the woebegone.
Sipping on your fallen tears
As the water turns to wine.
Drink in
The fallen fruits of your twisted vine.
And as you fortify the bulwark
And you sanctify the cup,
You’re pretending to be too in love
To find a snide remark.
