Hope's Lost Love

Hope's Lost Love

A Poem by Whisty_x

At night he saw me,
In day a blur.
My feelings to him - undiscovered,
And yet there we were.

I prayed for his touch,
But failed to feel.
Our love guided by arrows,
Re-directed by steel.

Both our hearts punctured,
By the devil's sharp pin.
I shy away from love,
For I cannot love him.

My thoughts undiscovered,
By the people who care.
I cannot love him,
And yet still I dare.

My mind is a mess,
My heart is a hole.
I could learn to love,
But destroy my soul.

This has to end,
Before it's too late.
I have lost a friend,
I don't want to hate.

For At night he saw me,
In day a blur.
My feelings to him - discovered,
And yet there we were.

Great poetic write and poignantly creative! I couldn’t help thinking; Lois lane loved Superman, but couldn’t recognise him as Clark Kent. There is a crossroads hidden within the text which makes the reader question – which path will she take? Wonderful …..
