Wasted Letters 1: Questions

A Poem by Chinedu Ubah

Should I be surprised how life have turned?
When shall what have been taken from me be returned?
Will I continue loving someone, other love by day at night?
Is it worth the fight?
Should I be tired of us living like vampires?
Must we always see ourselves in the cloak of darkness?
Why not elope with me, so we can build our empire?
Why must we live here, with such emptyness?
Do you know that for you I would spend my every cent?
Is it because you are like a God-sent?
Can you believe that I thought I came to earth just to taste your kiss?
Do you know that, thats the only taste on earth I would miss?
Have you left me now, my begotten?
And have I been forgotten?
