Just One View

Just One View

A Poem by Will
"

For all the True Writers

"
I spend all night on one poem,
bending and shifting rhymes.
At long last I can post it,
For reviews to point out grammar crimes.

I leave my piece to the wolves,
the wolves of the WC.
Hope that someone important
will glance at poems by Me.

I go to check on my work,
on my latest masterpiece.
But at that long sought moment,
All of my hope shall cease.

My poem has one measly view,
that's all my hard work has.
It drives me somewhat mad,
I'm really about to spazz.

Hard work and dedication,
and this is what I get?
Maybe one day I'll be on top;
yeah right, wanna bet?

But still, I keep on writing,
I think it keeps me sane.
And I think I like just one view,
Despite my speech of disdain.

Because I know there's that one person,
Who can look and relate to my work.
I know there's at least one person
to whose face I can bring a smirk.

So for that reason I keep writing,
for that one person; I dunno who.
But hey, if I can count myself,
I guess that makes two.

For everyone who might not get the views, but writes because they love it. Everyone who writes loves what they do, but you have to be dedicated to write just for yourself.

The wc is a fickle b***h mistress. I've gotten s**t with stuff I slaved over and scored number ones with crap i pulled out of my a*s in 15 minutes. Once in a while I really do write something amazing, like ice house of broken gears. Then I follow it with silly crap like I like girls. That stupid rhyme got over 200 views and it's moronic. It was meant to be moronic though and fortunately most folks got the joke. Some didn't, eh, not my problem. Write whatever you feel like and no matter how brilliant or stupid it is ricochet will always read it. Just like you read all my work, the brilliant right along with the idiotic. So at least one guy will read it for sure.

You have captured the frustrated heart of all writers, not just those on WC, Will. We must first write for ourselves; as you say, it keeps us sane. You can always count on my views, and I promise not to be too much of a wolf! Excellent poem!

Sometimes it can be discouraging if no one seems to really wanna read what you write...but there will always be those who will and those who do not really, just happens that way I guess. It's always nice to know that someone enjoys reading your writing...that helps you to keep up your hard work also.
