Alone

Alone

A Poem by Will
"

Peace

"
There's something about silence
that makes me peacefully sigh.
But there's something about the crowds,
that just makes me wanna die.

But in the silence of myself,
I can find some peace.
Alone with just a pen and pad
I find my sweet release.

My thoughts begin to slow,
and it all falls into place.
My writing gives me shelter
like a hidden army base.

So thank you for the silence,
I appreciate the deed;
All alone when being alone
is all that I need.

You have written a writer's anthem here, Will - Solitude is the perfect writing partner. Great rhythm to this one.

Certainly. Thanks, Ricochet
Excellent. Anyone who writes needs and cherishes solitude. "Alone with just a pen and pad I find my sweet release." Exactly the way I (and I suppose all writers) feel. Fine cadence and rhyme. Well done. Richard
(You might want to reconnect some and thing in the third line.)

It's like looking in a mirror. I relate to your words so well.

I know I need not tell you this, but your timing and rhythm is right on. Given the subject, there are a number of forms and structures that can work well to deliver the message. And your chosen form works just fine.

"Alone" is a pleasantly warm cup of tea.
