A Weekend in Fall

A Weekend in Fall

A Poem by Will Neill
"

Just some thoughts about Autumn

"

                            A weekend in Fall’

Sleeping in late from Dandelion Dreams

Early morning coffee with toast and sweet cream

Barren gold leaves that blanket the lawn

Ice covered glass and duvets of fawn

No need to change from slumber attire

Bed socks with cardigans love a roaring red fire

No thoughts of work or weekly routines

Forgotten idle talk from office canteens

Gone is the stress of a motorway drive

Being thankful to god that I am alive

To be part of a world that’s filled with such awe

Because there’s nothing I love more than a weekend in fall

                       ***

Love this different take on Autumn, which for me is the most lovely of all the seasons.

Beccy thank you for stopping by and for your lovely comment. Will
Beautiful poem, there is nothing more inspiring than a autumn day, sweat cream with coffee and a crackling fire.
I love it.

I felt the cosiness from the fire and imagined the lawn covered in leaves. I love Autumn and this wee poem makes me think you do too. Lovely write. Thank you 😊

Just came across your laid back write ... must be nice to relax from stress and a fast weekday pace! Poetically summed up with reflective poetical panache … :-)

Thanks Kelly, just a bit of idle fun I'm afraid, and no where near on a par with you-

And I did enjoy it, Will. With all the rotteness in the world, it's a joyful thing to experience a lazy autumn day in bed. More coffee, please.

Thanks Sam, you're a writerscafe treasure.
I did enjoy this as we are at the point of losing fall and even had an inch of snow that lasted only one day. Just a forecast of what is to come. Valentine
