Bond of Hearts

Imagine knowing the things we do know, imagine knowing them when we were but only 5 years old. What would life be like?

The new of their creation, brought forward,

Instructed to love and share, the whole world changed,

Looking so alike, they couldn’t be more different,

So new and innocent, pushing him out of spotlight,

 

Once I was alike, so fresh faced and loved,

Once I was you, centre of attention, always,

It will happen again, you will join the shadows with me,

Watching from afar, replaced, forgotten,

 

I hate you, and I forever will,

No place in my heart,

Taken from only child, to child of two,

The older, not so important, forgotten,

 

Doting parents, present never ending,

She is beautiful, that’s what they say,

I promise she isn’t, she will be horrible,

Constantly taking what was once mine,

 

Years fly by, my hatred dimming,

Golden hair donning that innocent crown,

Little green eyes, controlled by emotion,

Needing my love, friendship, acceptance,

 

How can I say no, to the eyes of my sister,

Requiring me to guide, to be safe,

Looking so alike, no longer so different,

A brother and sister, united with time.
