Intertwined with Grace

Intertwined with Grace

A Poem by WillaDanvers

Hidden smiles under hooded eyes,
Hands intertwined under the covers of dark,
Lost minds connecting in the midst of pain,
Unable to love for constrictions abound,

Laughter together, showing the traits of freedom,
Silver linings on the edges of clouds,
Not a touch on the spark in your eyes,
Watching me with the purest of thoughts,

Wanting to say more but afraid to do so,
Heart restricted by ropes cast by own hand,
The knowledge of more, and of what could,
Held back by the steel walls of fear,

Not so different yet no the same,
The grace of a smile at the start of the race,
Holding my hand, leading me forward,
Keeping me warm in the cold of dusk,

Watching eyes, keeping our distance,
Broken hearts lying not so still,
No advancements made for fear of time,
We aren't alone here, not this time,

Lost smiles waiting to be found,
Aching hearts pleading to be loved,
Hands intertwined under the covers of dark,
Breathing together, loving alone.
