If You Knew

If You Knew

A Poem by Savior of Time
"

Do you know?

"
If you knew,
What it was like,
To want to kill yourself,
Everyday of your life,
You might understand me

All of those things,
I've done to myself,
To hide the pain,
I've covered up,
So you don't see the scars

The same hurtful hits I've had,
That I've been blown with,
Come back to me in the dead of night,
I know that I'm crazy and mad,
So I tell myself that I'm worthless

I'm not worth it,
I don't deserve the help,
My beautiful, amazing friends,
I know that,
People have given me proof that I don't

My cuts and my scraps,
The dead skin on my blades,
Show me that I'm useless on this planet,
Carvings in my skin,
Tell me I'm stupid

Mirrors show me the truth,
Show me who I really am,
A dark, evil demon inside me,
Is all that I see in the reflecting glass,
I never forget how disgusting I am because of it

Walking home from the same dire days,
I feel so alone,
My household is a mousetrap,
And I'm the mouse caught in it,
I feel the pain of the trap in my soul

Your minds would change,
If you knew what can lie behind a smile,
A big, heartfelt laugh,
Never will you know or understand,
How much pain and self hate one can have

No. I know that these thoughts aren't ones you want to have. I know. Don't let them get to you. Promise yourself. Promise me. Make me a promise. I know it's hard. It doesn't have to be.
