Mothballs

Mothballs

A Poem by Gypsy Willow

I sit in amazement

As you play me yet again

How dare you act as if

You actually give a s**t

And then complain

When I confide

What’s it matter to you

If I perform my contrition

If I feed my deamons

It’s my life to live

And you’ve more than proven

I can’t always count on you

Believe it or not I can see

Right through your masks

I’m not an idiot

And you can’t make me believe

The selflessness

I hear your unspoken words

And now you’re running away

But from what?

It’s amazing how you can’t hear me

And I’m forced to wonder

Did you ever really listen?

So I’ve thrown my hands up

I’ll let you hide

But I refuse to seek

Your stupidity
