All of me

All of me

A Poem by willweb

All of me

We strolled -

When laughter turned to mud,

roots found solace on mountain tops

and treading tears was a fad

We held hands -

as carousels spun sideways,

stars collected on door mats

and silence hurt our ears

We smiled -

When Saturdays became Mondays,

gardens were carved of granite

and songbirds chirped in Cantonese

We laughed -

When bologna was fruit flavored,

pink was the color of death

and bones broke sticks and stones

We split -

When you found all of this

made more sense than dealing

with all of me

I really like the structure of this one. I'd call it a litany. A list of it that happened. Were you guys eating shrooms together? Psychedelic poetry! I like it!

Thank you for your nice review my friend.
What a quirky love poem, and makes perfect sense to me...'fruit flavored bologna', that was some love affair!

Being a relationship can be hard work but sometimes it can be quite challenging and annoying, things we love one minute, we hate the next. Ha, loved it Will.

A sad twist at the end - the same as life sometimes. Well played!

Like Shirlena, I thought things were on a good roll, then--BAM! You broke our hearts... well done! It made the piece more powerful. Though, I was enjoying the word play immensely. Thanks for sharing this...

Thanks so very much J.K. for you nice comments. Sorry about the ending. :)
Aww and it was going so well and picturesque and imagine the bologna tasted like gummy bears-(love that) to cut up in slices and share until and sadly so many don't know what they have. I skipped through this poem until I got to the end. That hurt wil but it was good :).
