Another Sunrise

Another Sunrise

A Poem by willweb

Another sunrise

and once again,

hope drags me from my bed,

gets me dressed,

pours me a cup of coffee,

shoves me out the door

and waves goodbye

Yeah I did and I am. Thanks so much my friend.
As long there is hope, there is life. As long there is hope, one day we'll find love and friendship. There will alway be another sunrise if there is hope. Very well written Will. :) Rudi

Thank you Noodlehead. Your nice review has me smiling again.
Hope is a great motivator - especially when she remembers to pour that coffee! ;) But oh, the crash of hopelessness... A lot expressed in this short poem, Will.

Thanks again Rita. I am happy you enjoyed this little poem.
This poem is the most hopeful and elegant expression of hopelessness I've ever read. It's momentum gathers with each line until it hits you--hope is going back inside to pack her bags... Excellent! Just perfect!

Thank you so much Alfred. I am happy you enjoyed this one.
it took me a long time to recognize my father for the hero he was .. doing just that day in day out .. without ever complaining .. all he asked was for respect and a sit down at DeRoberts (our neighborhood bar) with his cronies .. all across America the scene is repeated over and over ..

the loss of hope in your closing line is not lost on me .. it makes me even more appreciative for my father's life as he never gave up hope .. and it makes me feel the tragedy more keenly for those that have and do give up .. what an exquisite poem .. its one of those perfect expressions ... i would not change a thing

This one i love. every day we say its going to be different. But when we leave the gate its the same race, the same place, the same finish, the same masturbation in the shower, the same dirty floor, the same snear at the happy.
