Love is

Love is

A Poem by Amy Whetzell
"

So, while we're on the topic, what is love?

"

Love is the butterflies in your belly when you see him or hear his voice.

Love is the need to talk often enough so you don't forget what he sounds like, not that you ever could.

Love is being able to rely on him, and being there when he needs you.

Love is a kiss to your nose.

Love is never routine, full of surprises.

Love is all the little things you enjoy about him.

Love is when your entire body shutters and shivers at his slightest touch.

Love is a caress to your cheek, the holding of your hand.

Love is how the sound of his voice calms you when your temper flares and threatens to blow.

Love is how you can spend hours talking about nothing in particular.

Love is how he remembers the nothings in particular.

Love is when he'll stand up for you when others knock you down, verbally and otherwise.

Love is the ability to see yourself growing old with him, and liking that idea.

Love is seeing the flaws and accepting the man.

Love is knowing you're both on the same page.

Love is never having to say do you trust me.

Love is..

Knowing when to hold on

And when to let go

Brilliantly ingenious, touching with colourful simile and imagery. This work, so original, belongs in a Hallmark card.
