Sailboat

Sailboat

A Poem by ❀ Gabriela ❀
"

A short, lively poem about a sailboat.

"
Sailboat, small but steady
Drifting out to sea
Going out to nowhere
Sailboat, small and free

Out at break of day
Straying from the shore
Sailboat, still but restless
Yearns not, but for more.

Sailboat, small but steady
Yearns not, but to see
That which is, and ever was
And still has yet to be.

I meant for this poem to be short, lively and inspirational. What do you think?

That little sailboat was given life through your words and the imagery i recieved was just beautiful and so innocent. it was like a little child getting to go on the adventure of a life time. But then again, it could also be the journey of an individual who is living their wish and going forward to meet their dream. Perfect rhyming, rhythm and flow and altogether made this poem sing. Yep! I have decided that you are that one perfect writer with imagery, message and most of all interaction with your fellow poets and readers..

I think short, lively and inspirational is an understatement! This was absolutely beautiful. Such vivid imagery, sprinkled with emotion and contrast. There was great power in this little work. Thank you for sharing.

Great job. I think you met your goal about it being lively and inspirational! I can feel the restlessness of the sailboat as it longs to get out on the sea. Great imagery and wonderful job as usual:)

I love this poem! I think the choice of a boat to reflect on freedom was a really good choice indeed because there is nothing as free as the ocean and the sense of the unknown which comes with it. Another amazing write!

A poem that reads like a nursery rhyme, almost - and I love it. Just absolute adore it. The rhythm is consistent, the rhyming natural, the story charming. It's not often that I find rhyming poems that suit me (yes, I know I sound like such a self-satisfied jerk, but bear with me), but I've found that you have a knack for this kind of writing - writing that abides by whatever standards you decide to write by, whether according to a rhyme scheme or rhythm.

Keep writing, because you have a talent for it! :)
