Scattered Thoughts

Scattered Thoughts

A Poem by Tiny Drop

"One step after the other."
For the abyss stares at my back.
I wonder once again
Where life went awry
And maybe where I misstepped.

They say, "Life has a greater meaning
When in the middle of a storm,
So it can bring forth a new dawn
Filled with wonders and warmth."

But when the light falters I wonder
And cower at my own cowardice
While I linger in the dark side
Of my own soul, lonely and cold.

However, the cold is not so old
When the sunshine brightens up,
So I bask in it until I'm warm
And there's no cold in this old world
Only warmth and a song.

One song filled with words
And melodies which fly
In the sky like a white dove
Playing among the clouds high above.

"What would I be with no fences to jump?
No storms to live through?
No new dawn to shine through?"
There'd be no singing doves.
No basking in the sun.
No greater meaning in life.
Truly there'd be no fun.
That's the truth.

I guess I'd just become like every boring little human,
Living only in their own damn world.
