Cages

Trading one cage for another
Was never my intention
A life without love
Is the one I've found

Love for myself or love for others
Is a foreign concept
One that confounds;
And confuses me in ways untold

I thought everything would be ok
But I was wrong and to live with it
Everyday
Leaves me crushed and crumbling

On my knees gasping for breathe
Quite often I still find myself
Praying for death.

An interesting and well penned piece on what sounds like depression my friend....something that many of us face at some point in our lives....good visuals here...but as they say, there is beauty in darkness, and darkness cannot fail but give way to light....like winter always turns to spring,....it's natures way...
so celebrate the wisdom that these emotions provide, and look forward to the light....:)

Thank you so much for your review. Its not actually about depression. It relates more directly to a life event i have going on, however, i understand your interpretation.
