Nocturnal Soliloquy

One of my submissions for the Write Around Portland 2009 anthology.

A pale moon shimmers
Silver waves into disquiet
     On a remote lane

 

Raindrops slip furtively
Through ethereal shadow
     Past a street light

 

The aural world waiting
For sunrise lies wreathed
     In smooth velour
