Carillon Canticle

Carillon Canticle

A Poem by Outdated Account
"

Hear the sledges.

"
Softer
Ring the bells
As night air passes by.
Silver, golden, alarum, iron
Chimes ringing
The changing tones
Of a different life.

Gentler
Swings every lifeless limb.
Scrutiny begs perfection,
And who am I
To deny that force?
To bare the truth in me
While wearing some other skin?

Sweeter
Hums their melody
Buzzing in the meadow.
How wonderful every gift,
So scrumptious every treat,
Such sacrifice for me
That I will not return.

The imagery here is strong enough for one to fall right in and be uplifted. I enjoyed the flow of each stanza and enjoyed even more the open endedness of the last line. X
