Our Fallen Heros

Our Fallen Heros

A Poem by
"

I was inspired by two fighterfighters who lost their lives yesterday answering the call of duty. It might not be the perfect poem, but Capt Broxterman is the sister of my coworker. God bless Capt Broxterman and firefighter Spira. May we never forget.

"

With turn out gear

and a wail of sirens,

Fearlessly,

you answered the call.

To serve

beside your brothers,

amidst water

soot and smoke.

To save a life,

you risked your own.

A Phoenix rising

from the ashes,

you ascend into the heavens.

You will live on,

in our hearts and our memories

Never to be forgotten,

You are

Our Fallen Heros.

Author's Note

probably not the best poem ever written but my effort at writing a tribute nonetheless.

A beautiful and fitting tribute to two brave men who daily risked their lives for others and finally sacrificed those lives.
This poem would be fit reading for their service, and I would see that a copy got into the hands of each family. I'm certain they would be pleased with such a fine tribute to their loved ones.

The perfection is in the emotion. Words only reflect a small portion but it is enough for by sharing words, how ever imperfect, you pull that emotion out in the reader. Thank you for sharing your emotions with us.

Yes, it's a little cliche, but it's still moving and beautiful... nice imagery and I can feel your heart. Good job :)
