I scream everytime she hits me, but it seems that no one hears. Or maybe they don't care. I don't even hide the bruises, I leave them for the world to see. What is my purpose on this earth?

Author's Note

What happens when children are forced to fend for themselves? When they have to learn to survive young? What happens when the same children live like orphans, but their parents are still alive? Enter the world of Belle Par, she lives with her mother in Clarckwillow, Louisiana, 1949. The ten year old girl has suffered through physical, emotional, and mental abuse from both her mother and others.
Belle is on the brink of self-destruction. Her life is slipping away, and another false move can end her in a morgue if she isn't careful. It's only a matter of time before her mother kills herself with drinking, or kills Belle with her fists.
Follow Belle's life and journey through acceptance and truth.

This is a fantastic masterpiece that you have started. It is believable, gripping and fills the reader with feeling for the main character. The characters that you bring into the story are rich and well defined.
I found myself reading each line with a sense of anticipation and yet fear for Belle. You have a really good thing going here and I look forward to reading more as you add to it.

Masterfully Created!
