This is lovely. I'm not sure if i would actually call it a poem, but it has the poem feel to it. It really makes you think about your life much better. Well done.
This has been well thought out. I agree with every sentiment. Having battled dyslexia, lost a finger tip in a crush injury, broken bones, been beaten, grieved for grandparents, parents, a brother and friends. Having been homeless, unloved, rejected, addicted, bullied and sexually abused. Having visited a shanti town, Gypsies in Kossova and working with the disadvantaged. I think that I have some understanding of pain. However nothing compares to the pain and anger I feel when I see a child hungry, unwashed, unloved, beaten, bullied, rejected or abused. After reading your poem, I wonder how I could whine about my stupid toothache! Thank you for helping me put things into perspective.
