Just BeA Poem byCould you be my sunshine And wash the sand from my toes Take me to high cliff tops That only birdies know the way Make it a miracle, but dont forget To make it hurt So I can recall it at dawn And dance around with my high heels on Blow myself a mirror kiss Go too far, grab too hard, and I miss Shrug me off of your collar Buy me a knock off ring And see me smile for just a dollar Spilling the salt in the sugar bowl Laughing along and pretending it's sweet Make me twirl in the starlight And show me without using words What it is like to be free Gimme something to hold to Cuz pain is what I remember best I want it to stick around When the man upstairs lays me to rest Drive me around just to hear me talk Blow bubbles in the grass Listen to the rainbow paradise pop I'll wear your hoodie and gaze at the fire Lean into the breeze, breathe in the glow Run with me in the rain even if I'm slow Take me to a candy shop 'Cuz remaining young is what I desire You can't put a price on happiness When the best things Are what you can't buy Like waking up each day to The moon washing the bay's blue Counting leaves on the trees With Sponge Bob band aids On our scraped up knees Shower me in memories The way you did with the hose On my back yard trampoline Let me kiss you on the cheek In a shadow, in the rain On boat and on a train Call me pretty when my shine is dull Tell me what it was like to grow up To go mudding in a pick up truck Tye a cape around my neck and pull Me into you and whisper in my ear a little Just to see me giggle when it tickles Think of me when I am gone Leave a scar that will never disappear To remind me of our wrongs And know that they were right Teach me something I didn't know about life Flick the globe in the wrong direction And see where we go Double dutch, grip the clutch And pray that no one will make Our same mistake and decide that They should follow
