To You

To You

A Poem by

Going through my deserted road

I saw you waiting for a lift.

My car stopped.

And on that scorching summer noon,

You sat on the passenger seat.

For the first time I looked in your eyes

For a second.

And I saw gratitude.

Then time carried on our friendship,

Kept the flawless moments moving on.

Now today-

When you say those three words to me,

I again look into your eyes.

For seconds.

For minutes.

I see my world in them.

And when I say,

“I love you too”,

If you look back at mine,

For the briefest of time,

You will see the same gratitude.

You will know that I mean it.

Sweet. You've conveyed the beauty of love in but a few lines. Good job.

I take it this is not your average hitchkiker? This was beautiful to read. One small grammar check:
Kept the flawless moments move on.
Did you mean, Kept the flawless moments moving on?
It just reads better this way.
