~ Refreshment

She decided to give her heart

              Back to the moon,

   Where she belonged;

           So that her heat could sizzle softly

       On this fresh skin, to be one again;

After being sun-baked inside

           For too many months, even years,

  And feeling over burned by the love,

              Of his tangible forged iron(ic) arms of heat.

Indeed, we all need to refresh our minds and take a little break from the sizzling sun.
What better place to be than in the arms of the moon for comfort...such as poetry, my dear Eli.
You have softened the intensity with your tender words, yet we writers know all too well that it can absorb every ounce of our being. Therein lies the love-hate relationship...

Magnificent write Sis!~xoxo~

Oh how wonderful! Moon, as always the feminine root of all, lid up from the fiery {sun} of male. It`s great metaphor for how inspiration works sometimes...It has ways and labyrinths even. Moon has a cool sparkle and sun too warm, in balance between them is the love of poets. So nice, dear Eli!

Thanks for the comment F A
A beautifully worded piece. I'll admit though... While I can see in the words that there is a certain polarization between hot and cold...or perhaps bad or good. The analogy described in the first stanza, going back to the moon to sizzle.. that just doesn't make any sense to me... =) Perhaps I'm seeing it incorrectly... but doesn't the piece basically state that one is going from the over opressive heat of something like a fiery cage into the coolness of the moons night? Any way... I love how the words of the poem sound when spoken! =)

Ink that makes me think..
