~ And On The Final Day

There was a table for two,

   On the end of the train carriage,

       I smelled your perfume as light as the wind;

It felt more familiar than ever,

    It was like I made love to you from afar,

         By the pure smell of your skin;

And the smell merged with

     Robust heart notes mixed with a fresh

          Touch of citrus and lavender,

Soft as the wind, to spoil my nose,

      And then you grabbed my hand,

            You rough firm handshake, was your character,

One could blindly recognize you with;

      And so I turned around, and

             Swallowed in tenderness, of love

Red cheeks, as fresh  as wild roses,

       With some dew on it…

              No, it was you, I didn’t dream it,

And the sparkles in your eyes,

         Were as if I read the most beautiful novel,

                While I stared at you...

A novel, I almost finished; but kept on

          Reading and repeating,

                 So the last chapter would never end,

It just needed to be there... for eternity;

          Over and over again, in the train scene;

                  Where they finally met, on their way

To the heart of Barcelona…

How romantic, those moments, the first meeting of soulmates, the wonderful feeling it brought to the two lonely soul's journey, the noticeable bond between lovers - oh those feelings... i felt it here... a captivating scene you had brought us into this expressive piece... I really do like it...

Thank you so much my friend, for being here. :) I appreciate you and your words.
The acoustic guitar was the perfect accompaniment to your words here, Elisa. The photo reminded me of my travels on Eurorail so many years ago. There is something innately romantic about train travel. Something magical about feeling the vibration of the train while looking into dreamy eyes of love.
"And the sparkles in your eyes, were as if I read the most beautiful novel" Heavy sigh! What a lovely scene this is...and the emotion pours over the edges of every line. A bit poignant, but oh so romantic. I could almost smell his cologne! Wonderful work, my friend. Knuffels, Lydi**

beautiful poem...i want to know what happened next.how the novel finally ended...did they actually talk to each other? meet?

you created such a romantic scene of fantasy and reality mixed together...even the speaker seemed unsure as to which was which.

Chance encounters of meeting someone. The excitement and replaying of a special moment in time that that captures the essence of how it all began and grew into something more. The smells help set the scene and allow you to understand the character better in this piece. Stunning details as always.
