There is a cold sharp wind

 

Short days of light,

Move too quickly

Around the axis,

 

At least it seems so,

The days go so much

Faster then I keep track.

 

Where I walk,

The sun shines,

A soft and

Misty gleam,

 

Above the cold water,

Like a blanket,

To hold it warm, and

Extend the season…

 

Trees feel lost, and

Are tired and powerless,

 

I imagine myself in their

Fallen leaves,

Hiding there

For a while,

 

To feel me warmer.

This poem painted a vivid and beautiful picture in my mind. It took me on a "mental vacation". I love the way the words flow together. I think the format you used for the words was perfect. This poem relies a lot on imagery, yet it still has a lot of emotion. It is mysterious and complex, yet it still has a simplicity to it. A gorgeous and wonderfully written poem!

I completely love the sweet warmth inside this November poem...I feel the same way, when it comes to winter cold, some string of melancholy is there, in the autumn leaves, which reveals all beauty of nature. There is also little loneliness and emptiness, or just inside me :) I`m attached to your poetic way of describing, as if I read diary of feelings, like the abstract flow of emotions contains the essence of life, much more than activities! There is so much melancholy through the darkest days before Christmas yes... the days shorten too fast, and we like to be warm. There is loneliness and emptiness, you felt that really well. :) this one was a true hike, and I did sit down, to feel one with the leaves for a while... (hugs to you) and thank you for the support, my dearest. Your words mean the world to me. And I slowly will come back to read / review your newest... can't wait. xx
