Portrait Face

Portrait Face

A Poem by

Her portrait drowns in falling tears,
Pouring down from frightening fears.
Listening in on secret whispers,
Life is painted in pretty pictures.

The music plays a silent tune.
Within pictures she does commune,
to life away from wooden frames.
Until her portrait burns in flames,
as tears drown her portrait face.

I saw Dorian Gray Here in your last stanza. The image of the burning picture, it's really intense!

I had to read the poem a few times. I felt a sadness in the words. Tear and sadness changing the outlook of her face and thoughts. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
