Screwed Things Up Again

by Patricia Francis - Copyright © Patricia Francis

There's a little child
out there all alone
searching for someone
a hand to get back home

I'm sure you know the feeling
of being oh so lost
It's what makes you strong they say
I say at what cost

Well don't burn all your bridges
I know that's what you'd say
But what if it's just too late
If they burned down yesterday

[Chorus]

[Oh Lord I screwed things up again
Am I really here without a friend
Just tryin' to make it through this life
What can I do to get it right]

Shattered visions,broken dreams
now litter the path I'm on
The midnight hours' upon me
and I can't see the dawn

In my dreams I feel you
reaching out to me
Sayin' Darlin' it's all right
Come curl up on my knee

They say you can't recapture
the old friends you have lost
It's what makes you strong they say
I say at what cost...

[Chorus]
[Oh Lord I screwed things up again
Am I really here without a friend
Just tryin' to make it through this life
What can I do to get it right]
