A Senseless Fairy Tale

Once upon a time,

You were my sarcastic dictionary.

Showing me the universe

through your cynicism.

We danced together

but alone

minds lost in space.

I found

I never knew myself

until I was in your arms.

And we were starlight.

These violent delights

make for violent ends.

A child’s wish turned supernova,

A vast ocean I cannot understand,

And suddenly

I was nostalgic

for a place I had never been.
