Love's Addiction

Yeah, this kinda relates to my current situation.kinda.

Love is such a terrible fate.
Once you have felt it,
you begin to crave it.
It becomes an addiction,
but not any normal kind.
You begin to want more than anything,
that special someone.
You love them,
but yet you hate them for making you feel this way.
You know you coudn't live a day without them,
but you wish you had never met them.
You feel as if they are an illegal drug themselves,
A simple case of wanting what you can't have.
They know you're there,
and they know how you feel,
but they continue to torture you,
to make you want them even more.
It's such a cruel and unfair game,
but so is life,
and here you sit, reading this.
Even though you try to forget them,
their voice, their eyes, their face...
you realize it is inevitable.
Once you love them,
you just can't stop.
It doesn't matter how many laws you break,
or who's heart you hurt,
as long as you get one more day with them.
Love...
It doesn't have to make any sense,
it doesn't have to take pity,
It doesn't have to turn out right,
It just has to exist.
because living without love,
Is like not living at all.
Even the lonliest of souls are captured by it.
Love is an addiction that no man or beast can control.
That, my friend, is why it is called: love.

Wow.. such passionate truth about love.. it's a frustrating thing.. so many feelings exist in the world of loving.. it is such a deep addiction. I can not function properly without it sometimes.. I instill it in my children but then there is still that need for myself and another... Wow.. your writing pretty much sums it up for everyone.. can't live with em and can't live without em.. Love is hate sometimes too.. and pain.. wish we could have love without those negative feelings but I suppose it makes the great moments greater!!! Great feeling writing.. keep it up! =)

this is really good, i can pisture everything so clearly in my head, and i think you are right... love is addicting... once you feel it, you always seem to need more... it's like a wierd aroma within one's heart! anyways... great writing! keep up the good work...

Wow you really took a interesting view of love but damn if you are not right, I never thought bout it as an addiction bu t bravo for pointing that out...

This sums up my situation too. I used to love this guy, and then I guess I didn't? But now I crave his attention... love is so confusing, but I loved these lines because they're true: "because living without love is like not living at all".
