How do I forgive

How do I forgive

A Poem by James L.
"

Sometimes we need to ask how in order to learn how to forgive. Reach out...

"
how do i forgive
my abusers for the pain
my satan for the hate
my skys for the rain

how do i forgive
my mother for my birth
my mellowness from my father
my God for my very existence

and how do i forgive
my you for the hearbreak
life for the heartbreak
and myself for breaking my own heart

how do I forgive
myself for the gruges i hold
myself for the hate i have
myself for the pain i have

how do i forgive
myself for still breathing life
myself for still being mellow
myself for still existing today

how do i forgive
my glass being half empty
myself for living in the past
myself for not living today

how do i.... forgive

Wow, the pain is so palpable it clearly leaps off the screen as I read your words. Wow, the heartache you feel is etched into each word, into each sentence, into each stanza. Wow, is really the only word that comes to mind as I try to write a comment about this poem. Wow, it is so wonderfully written but, I am sorry that you have had to experience so much pain in order to write this poem. I am glad that you have written this poem and shared your pain with all of us. Thank you. Forgiveness comes slowly, in it's own time. It can neither be rushed or slowed. It will come eventually. But, you need to be the first one that you forgive, after you forgive yourself, forgiving others will be much easier. I loved this poem.
