"the freak who burned down the world"

"the freak who burned down the world"

A Poem by James L.
"

The ending seems cut off, but it all has a important point too make.

"

“FIRE!!!”
A vortex like inferno
Engulfs mice and men
Flames reaching out to bite
Bright and suffocating
Scary and ravenous
Unstoppable
Unbeatable
A force to be reckoned with
Will destroy everything until there is nothing left

Then it starves
This once great element will die from starvation
Searching for life, but finding its own death
Burned out
Giving the earth mercy at last
From the middle of the dying flame
Is a person born from fire

The survivors flinch at every move
At every cry she makes
She asks for help
Then she is damned by the others
Scorned by them
Chased away by them
Hated by them
Degraded by them
She hungered for food and water
She yearned for love
She wanted a hug
But she is prosecuted
As "the freak who burned down the world”

Chased to the ocean
On the edge of a cliff
She turns and says
“you do the same.”
